Sample Variables

The variables in a Sequence that define each sample injection. Each sample variable is a column on the Sequence list. If you are using Chromeleon Xpress/Server, the variables are also stored in a database as part of the Sample Data.

Chromeleon Xpress provides the following sample variables:

No.

The number of the injection within the sequence (read-only).

Pos.

The sample vial's position in the autosampler.

Inj. Vol.

The injection volume in microliters (µl).

Program

The Program to run for this injection. When selecting a program in the Sequence list on the Sequence Control panel, the drop-down list includes the default program selected for the current sequence and any additional programs that were imported (copied) into the sequence when the sequence was created.

See The Sequence Wizard Methods and Reporting in the Chromeleon User Help for details.

Status

The status of the injection, either Single (the sample has not been run), Finished (processing of the sample is complete), or Interrupted (the sequence was interrupted while this sample was being processed).

Inj. Date/Time

The date and time the injection was processed (read-only). Also, refer to Inj. Date/Time.

For Chromeleon Xpress/Server, the following additional sample variables are available:

Name

The name is typically entered when the sequence is created. You can also enter or edit the name in the Sequence list on the Sequence Control panel.

Type

The Sample Type is typically entered when the sequence is created. You can select a different type in the Sequence list on the Sequence Control panel.

Method

The Method used for evaluating a sample's chromatographic data. The method can be selected in the Sequence Wizard or in the Sequence list. In the Sequence list, the list contains only the methods created for the current sequence. A method can also be selected after the sample is run.

Also, refer to Sequence
